In rails, if you want to use geocode gem for your project, this is very simplely, you can use geokit, geocoder and so on. but if you want to use it with bing map, the geokit not supported currently. and the geocoder starting from rails3, unfortunately our some projects use rails2. so I get the bing source code from geocoder, the following is the sources code use bing map.
